The Universe Will Work It Out

I know, I know…we’ve been quiet most of February… and trust me, it was for good reason. I went to Bali, Babe.
Not just “booked a quick getaway” Bali. I mean three-years-in-the-making, vision-board-manifested, finally-aligned Bali. Bali had been living in my spirit long before my passport stamp made it official.
I originally paid for this trip three years ago. And let’s just say… timing had its own plans. A few unexpected pauses. A missed connection. A necessary reschedule. Each time the trip shifted, I wondered if it simply wasn’t meant for that season.
But what I know now is this — what’s for you will wait for you.
When we finally lifted off, I felt calm. Certain. Ready.
I landed in Bali at midnight — thirteen hours ahead of EST — exhausted but fulfilled. Our driver greeted us with the warmest smile, and the humid island air wrapped around me like a welcome embrace. By the time we arrived at our villa, I could already feel myself softening.
I unpacked immediately (because I cannot function in chaos), showered, and sank into bed.
Rainy season was technically in full effect. The forecast predicted showers all week. But the next morning, sunlight streamed through the skylight in my bathroom as if the island itself was whispering, “Welcome.”
I slid open the curtains to reveal our private pool — palm trees swaying gently, water still as glass, the air quiet and warm. I stood there barefoot, smiling.
“I’m really here.” This trip was intentional. A wellness reset.
First stop? A gel manicure and pedicure — $47. Yes, forty-seven dollars. I had broken a nail during travel and Bali said, “Relax, we got you.” From there, the experiences just flowed.
I soared on the famous Bali Swing in Ubud, suspended over lush jungle greenery, wind in my hair, feeling completely free.
I enjoyed a $22 massage at Potato Head, — twenty-two dollars for an experience that felt luxurious and unhurried.
I scheduled a Reiki reading in Seminyak that left me grounded and reflective.
We had a floating breakfast in our villa pool — fresh fruit, warm coffee, quiet gratitude.
We grocery shopped for fresh fruit, teas, cheese, and crackers — 219,000 rupiah… about $12 USD. I’m still smiling about that.
The rain did interrupt our sunrise horseback riding adventure, which I was really looking forward to. But Bali reminded me that surrender is part of the practice. And I lovingly opted out of visiting Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary. I didn’t need that kind of monkey business.
Now let’s talk real life.
Pros:
•The Balinese people — kind, gracious, spiritually grounded
• The food — fresh and vibrant
•Wellness experiences — unmatched
•Affordable luxury
•Lush landscapes that look filtered in real life
•Warm weather
•Private villa living
•Easy transportation with Grab/Uber
Cons:
•Stray dogs (harmless, but present)
•Traffic — a steady flow of cars and motorbikes
•24-hour travel + jet lag
•Tap water is not drinkable
Would I go back? Without hesitation. Yes. Some places are beautiful. Some places are fun.And some places shift you.
Bali slowed me down. It reminded me of how to move with intention. To rest without guilt. To enjoy without rushing and that… The Universe will work it out.
Gratefully, I left lighter than when I arrived. You know I already have a list of what I’ll do next time. Thank you, Bali, see you soon.
